Golden News Briefing

Editorial policy

Golden News Briefing aims to explain news-reading choices carefully and plainly. We value accuracy, independence and visible corrections over confident-sounding shortcuts.

Accuracy and checking

We check names, quotations and factual statements against suitable source material before publication. We distinguish direct evidence, a source's account and our own interpretation. If information is incomplete or disputed, we make that limit clear rather than smoothing it away.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to secure favourable coverage for a contributor or partner. We do not promise positive treatment in exchange for access, payment or promotion. Any outside interest that could reasonably affect a piece should be disclosed.

Corrections

If a published item contains a material error, we correct it and make the change clear to readers. Smaller wording fixes may be made without a note when they do not alter meaning. Readers can flag a concern through the Contact page; include the item and the detail at issue.

Partner material

Paid or partner-supported material is identified clearly where it appears. A partnership does not buy editorial control over independent coverage, and commercial content is not presented as independent reporting.
