Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand how news accounts are made and interpreted. A good contribution gives readers a useful way to inspect a report without claiming more certainty than the evidence allows.
What we welcome
Pitch explainers on headlines, source trails, framing, verification habits or the context needed to read a report. We are interested in focused ideas that work for general readers and do not depend on insider access, professional advice or a fast-moving claim that may soon go stale.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the central question, why it matters to a reader and the specific examples or source material you would use. Explain what the piece can establish and what it cannot. A narrow, well-supported idea is more useful than a broad promise to cover everything.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a short summary and any relevant experience, but do not send confidential material or claim credentials you do not hold. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
